Welcome
to Basilico Engineering, Incorporated.
My name is Lawrence Ikye Nwachukwu,
the founding President and Chief Executive Officer of Basilico
Engineering, Inc. As a
youngster at the age of 16, I was involved in my father’s company and
thus became exposed to many aspects of the engineering business.
At such an early age, I was instilled with the basic principles of excellent work habits and sound business practices. Spiritually, I
was taught and believe that “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of
wisdom”- Psalm. I also
believe that Destiny is usually not a matter of chance, it is sometimes a
matter of choice; it is not usually a thing to be waited for, it is a
thing to be achieved. My parents believe in hard work and being prepared to achieve
the things we so dearly desire. These
provisions are fundamental to most of my core beliefs as I undertake the
leadership of Basilico Engineering, Inc. Though
my company, Basilico Engineering, Inc. has no financial nor
combined-working relationship with my father’s firm - (former Basilico
Builders LTD.), those initial exposures and interactions with officers and
executives of various firms were instrumental in my quest to pursue and
obtain a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, a Masters Degree in
Environmental/Civil Engineering and to pass the Professional
Engineering License (P.E.) in the state of Missouri.
I am also licensed in the state of Illinois. I
bring 15 years of engineering experience to the newly formed Basilico Engineering, Inc.,
as well as a team of highly skilled engineers and other professionals.
Prior to forming this firm, I worked with notable private
firms and outstanding public agencies such as the Metropolitan St. Louis
Sewer District (MSD) and the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT).
While at MSD, I worked within the Engineering Department for about
8 years and designed many sanitary sewer and storm water conveyance
projects. I have also
reviewed the study and design modifications of several large wastewater
treatment plants. Also, I
have worked with very large consulting engineering firms, such as
Woodward – Clyde (now part of URS Corporation), Woolpert LLP, and
Professional Service Industries, Inc., in their environmental,
geotechnical, and material testing divisions. Specifically,
our mission is to provide excellent engineering services, to the satisfaction of our valued and
respected clients. We
want to provide the most
valued and cost-effective services to ensure client satisfaction. We believe that a happy and satisfied client is not only our best
customer but also our major source of new and repeat business. At Basilico Engineering, Inc. we opt to build a synergistic
and mutually rewarding working relationship with our clients.

communication links. Basilico Engineering, Inc.

I believe in continuing to establish good diplomatic relationships
as well as utilizing our systematic alliance with other engineering firms
of different sizes and types. Diversity is fundamental in our objectives, as we not only

Our firm hopes to continue to embrace and to accomplish the above
objectives within a culture that encourages sustainable development and
other relevant environmental principles. At Basilico Engineering
we believe in developing and implementing an open-door policy.
